All Westchester Youth Soccer League (WYSL) games including friendlies and State Cup games must have
referees assigned by the WSRO.
If you are asked directly by a team, club or an outside party to ref a game, call the Assignor or the President
for guidance. If you happen to be at a particular location where no assigned referee is present for a WYSL game
and if you feel qualified to handle the game competently and professionally, you may officiate. However, later
in the day, you must notify the Assignor.
Do not agree to officiate any game where you do not know the teams and/or the affiliation is unclear.
If you have any doubt about accepting an assignment, please contact the President or an executive board member.
Assignment Process for WYSL Games
Your WSRO assignor is responsible for assigning referees to all Westchester Youth Soccer League (WYSL) games
that play in Westchester County and several fields in the Bronx and Manhattan.
Every Sunday evening, the assignor sends an email, with an EXCEL spreadsheet attached, for the U9 thru U11
games for the following Sunday. If you wish to work that following Sunday, just select at least 2 back-to-back
games,
or more, and reply. Since so many referees want to work games, try to include more than (1) choice. The
assignor will then confirm to you, by email, which games are yours. If you do not hear from him within two days
of sending your request, please contact him via email.
All U12 games and above are assigned individually by the assignor based upon your availability.
If U12 and above level games are what you expect to work, please complete and submit your availability form
found on the website, updating as necessary.
On Friday morning, all referees will receive an email from our corresponding secretary
directing you to the WSRO website under
Uncovered Games,
where you will find those weekend games that still
require referee coverage.
If you can find games that fit into your schedule, even if it is just a single game,
please notify the assignor via email. The uncovered list on the website is updated through Sunday morning.
Games are removed as they get assigned.

Assignment Process for Scarsdale and New Rochelle Rec Leagues
Monday or Tuesday of each week: Email the assignor that you
wish to ref this coming weekend, specify day(s) available, time, number of games, preferred age group(s) and
leave your phone number.
Wednesday or Thursday: Assignor will contact you with your assignment; be sure you are clear on the assigned field, including field number, and time(s).
